In designing the Palais Ideal, John Edwards and Richard van Kruysdijk have joined ranks with bands such as Editors, She Past Away, Lebanon Hanover, Trentemøller and Ikon, who have also drawn inspiration from works by The Cure, New Order, The Sound and the Sisters of Mercy. Old post-punk and synth-pop-era music for nostalgic ears. Their style is characterised by a strong fusion of cold / minimal wave elements with melancholic dark vocals, organic sounds and distinctive vocals.
