A bona-fide underground legend, Witcyst has been creating completely unique noise music from the isolation of smalltown New Zealand since the late 80's. For three decades Witcyst has been an infamous yet mysterious force of the deep noise underground, sharing releases, wrapped in his own handmade day-glo collaged artworks and assemblages, but never appearing live. The freest of free music; unhampered by arch design or advanced technique, it stands as an ever-surprising, unmatchable feast for the ears and eyes. "Real Folk" breaks the long-held secret of Witcyst, bringing his glorious visions to a wider audience. The 4CD boxset collects 40 tracks (4 hours of music) from 20 self-released lathe cut 7" singles from the mid-90's (all from legendary NZ lathe-cutter, Peter King), that were originally released in editions of 10-20 copies. The box-set also includes three booklets (72 pages) of artwork (reproducing the artwork of each single), photos and an extensive first-time home interview of Witcyst himself by Noel Meek. Ltd x 300 copies.
