"Vien voglia di crogiolarsi nell’utopica illusione che ancora ci sia spazio per salutari anacronismi, quando si legge nelle note che a seguito delle richieste di appassionati che, rifiutandosi di scaricarle in rete e dunque pagare comunque colpevole pedaggio alla modernità, reclamavano, fieramente, fossero assemblate in degna veste la copiosa quantità di canzoni che non erano per ragioni di spazio entrate nel pur doppio “John Barleycorn Reborn:Dark Britannica” (BU#115) ed erano state rese appendice solo nel, vista la materia, mai così immondo, non-formato del download. Ancora una rassegna in doppio CD dunque, che peraltro s’aggiunge al secondo volume di ‘Dark Britannica’, “We Bring You A King With A Head Of Gold” (BU#157), in cui si raccolgono contributi che condividono ceppo folk, pur modellandolo alternativamente con rigorosa attenzione alla tradizione o con meno rigida inflessione folk rock, con qualche evasione in strumentali dalle tonalità chiaroscurali con The Owl Service, Novemthree e Far Black Furlong e immancabili episodi accappella, o quasi, da Clive Powell, Mac Henderson Of Grand Union Morris, Mary Jane. In un insieme in cui tracimano fragranze ancestrali, intimismo e poesia, splendidi i brani di Magpiety, The Story, Telling The Bees, James Reid, Orchis, Twelve Thousand Days" (Blow-Up)
